EDITOR'S NOTES. --Ga. L. 1996, p. 238, § 1, effective April 1, 1996, repealed the Code sections formerly codified at this chapter and enacted the current chapter. The former chapter consisted of Code Sections 12-12-1 through 12-12-26 and was based on Ga. L. 1986, p. 1157, § 1; Ga. L. 1987, p. 3, § 12; Ga. L. 1987, p. 964, § 1; Ga. L. 1990, p. 285, § 1; Ga.
